A Note About Me

Manjusha has garnered 24 years of experience in professional film practice with diverse organizations / clients, in multi-hued projects from documentaries, corporate and image-building promos to travel films and television as a Coordinator / Director / Conceptualizer / Trainer / Facilitator and Consultant.


She has 12 years of experience in education practice facilitating learning in courses ranging from liberal arts to film techniques and film appreciation. She has also worked with many social sector organizations creating films for their needs and facilitating Training Workshops.

 

She has participated in educational initiatives with middle level and high school children, and health workers across states, to teach Digital Film Making and using film as text to enable language learning. 

 

She is passionate about the different uses of video / film as a medium, whether to facilitate learning, empowerment or create spaces for dialogue beside the traditional onus of the medium as a form of expression.


She was faculty at Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology, Bangalore, since 2009 (full-time), and later as visiting faculty, until 2020.


Currently, she is engaged in realizing a framework and the editing of a film on Indian Jazz Musicians, encapsulating the lives of 5 musicians who left India way back in the 80s and migrated to Europe in search of their sound.
 

In 2021, she completed a 3 year, MSc. program in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology, with Alef Trust, UK, awarded by Liverpool John Moores University.
 

Currently, she has received a grant from Conscious Community Initiative, UK, to facilitate 'The Participatory Media Project' which engages with government school children to create awareness about ecology, and filmmaking skills that enables the children to express their personal stories and viewpoints around environment. This project is in collaboration with the Deer Park Institute, Bir, Himachal Pradesh.

She envisions her engagement in film and education practice informed by transpersonal connections with humanity and the world.
